For the designers and construction specialists at IWC, the claim to excellence, “Probus Scafusia” – “Craftsmanship made in Schaffhausen”, first formulated in 1903, is not only an enormous challenge but also their great passion.
This is the most complex IWC ever made - it took ten years to develop - and it is awesome. The front of the Portuguese Sidérale Scafusia features the solar time, the sidereal time (both can be set independently), power reserve and a very large tourbillon as seconds display. After eight years, IWC launched a modernized version of the Aquatimer in July 2022, which differs from its predecessor only in tiny external details, but technically takes a big step forward. Now called 3288, the Aquatimer reference received IWC's caliber 32110 manufacture movement with a 120-hour power reserve and Pellaton winding. The Probus Scafusia Logo that IWC uses in their watches is an independent trademark that was invented by Johannes Rauschenbach-Schenk in 1903. It was to signify "Good,Solid Craftsmanship from Schaffhausen."
